Product Introduction
Although 6-FAM has been commonly used to develop various qPCR probes, its fluorescence has two limitations of use: a) it is highly pH dependent; b) Rapid photobleaching. FAM-xtra phosphamide was developed to address these two limitations, while the ease of operation of 6-FAM phosphamide was fully maintained. FAM-xtra phosphamide can be used exactly the same as 6-FAM phosphamide under the same operating conditions without any modification.
Oligonucleotides made from FAM-xtra phosphamide have considerable advantages over 6-FAM-labeled nucleotides: a) identical spectra; b) the fluorescence of FAM-xtra oligonucleotide was brighter; c)FAM-xtra oligonucleotide has higher photostability; d) The fluorescence of FAM-XTRA-labeled oligonucleotides is much less sensitive to pH. Under physiological conditions, the fluorescence of FAM-XTRA-labeled oligonucleotides is essentially PH-independent, which makes FAM-XTRA-labeled oligonucleotides more reliable.
