Product Introduction
BHQ-1 carboxylic acid is a dark quench that can be activated and coupled to substrates with nucleophilic groups, such as amino groups on peptides.
BHQ-1 can be located at the 5' or 3' end or inside the oligonucleotide. BHQ-1 labeled oligonucleotides are used in many applications, including double-labeled fluorescent probes for real-time PCR. The dark quenker has a strong absorption range of 480 nm-580 nm and can quenches the fluorescence of fluorophores emitting fluorescence in this range such as FAM, TET, CAL Fluor Gold 540, JOE, HEX, CAL Fluor Orange 560 and Quasar 570 dyes. BHQ-1 dye may quench fluorescence by FRET and static quenching mechanism.
