Product Introduction

Water soluble, amino reactive sulfocyanine 3 NHS ester. Efficient labeling of proteins and peptides in pure water solution without organic cosolvents. Ideal for low solubility proteins and volatile proteins. This product is an analogue of Cy3 NHS ester. Sulfocyanine 3 NHS ester replaced Cy3, Alexa Fluor 546 and DyLight 549 in all applications.

Various cyanine dyes have been used to label biomolecules as well as for fluorescence imaging and other fluorescency-based biochemical assays. They are widely used to label peptides, proteins and oligonucleotides. Cy3 dye is one of the most common red fluorophores. These multifunctional fluorophores can tolerate pH ranges from 3 to 10 for a variety of applications at biologically relevant pH values. These dyes also have the ability to tolerate DMSO and are photostable and can be transferred from storage to analysis without loss of performance. Water solubility eliminates the need for organic solvents in the assay buffer. Sulfo-Cyanine 3 is an alternative dye primarily used to replace Cy3, originally developed by GE Healthcare, for labeling peptides and oligonucleotides.
